Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: Provide an independent audit of the “Hometown Heroes Assistance Program” grant program while it was being administered by the Department of Public Safety’s Office of Justice Programs and the State Fire Marshal during the grant period of July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2023. The audit included operation, compliance and financial audit. Contractor provided a compliance and operational assessment and review of financials for findings, weaknesses and questionable cost regarding funding received and expenditures incurred.

Evaluate the contractor's timeliness the contractor completed the scope of work within the contract period and provided the Department of Public Safety with a final audit report on June 21, 2024, prior to the expiration date of the contract.

Evaluate the contractor's quality the contractor was very thorough and detailed in conducting the operation, compliance and financial audit. The contractor did provide a presentation of her findings upon completion of her audit work so that the agency understood the audit findings and the supporting documentation or lack of documentation that was provided to the Department of Public Safety during the audit period defined within the scope of work.

Evaluate the contractor's cost the contractor’s hourly rate was consistent with other financial audit firms within the same industry.

Evaluate the contractor's overall performance the contractor provided frequent updates on the progress of the completion of work and any issues that were discovered during their audit. The Department of Public Safety was very satisfied with the outcome of the work provided.
