Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: Four day, in-Person CFE Exam Review Course Training for to a maximum of 55 employees. In addition, participants earned 31 CPE credits, and gained certification upon successful completion of the CFE exam.

The Minnesota Department of Revenue administers the tax system in the State of Minnesota. Training employees is an agency-wide focus and offering the Certified Fraud Examiner to Revenue employees who work with fraud will give them more experience and education to properly enforce the tax codes. The mission of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners is to reduce the incidence of fraud and white-collar crime and to assist in fraud detection and deterrence. Several positions in Revenue work towards combatting tax fraud, therefore this credential will give employees the education and tools they will need to successfully do their jobs.

If this was a single source contract, explain why the agency determined there was only a single source for the services (if applicable) The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners is the world’s largest anti-fraud organization and the only organization that offers the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential, and administers the CFE exam. The Dept. of Revenue administers the tax system for the State of Minnesota, and the CFE course will give employees more experience and education to properly enforce the tax codes.
